Fall has officially arrived, and with it, Jeff's race against time to complete the roof installation on our house before the PNW rain.
Today is a bit more special because we have a 80% solar eclipse happening in Seattle. Jeff swore he saw it from the Home Depot parking lot around 9:18AM and the sky briefly dimmed for a moment.
This morning, uncle John, aunt Judy and aunt Teri stopped by to say Hi.
Later in the afternoon, I brought up some coffee and snacks from Kkokio (my favorite fried chicken place in Seattle) just as Nick and Kim arrived. Look at these amazing fried chicken, Vietnamese spring rolls, and cheese balls!

After the snack break, we were all divided into different duties: Nick and Jeff collaborated on installing the sub-fascia and rafters, while Kim saw discarded wood into smaller, more manageable pieces for disposal and I wheelbarrowed the waste to its designated location.
Kim and I got done early so we decided to take a nice walk in the forest. The moss were in a lush green color, the air was so fresh and misty, and there were so many mushroom of different types.

I believe these are oyster mushroom. Although I picked some last year, I remember their flavor were too earthy and decided to let them undisturbed this time around.

We wrapped up the day with a big finish, lifting a 250-pound beam onto the roof!
