Some notes quoted from Allison:

"Basement Bath:

Brick walls (can be slim brick/brick veneer or brick-style tiles for a less-costly application) but I do think the thicker grout look (inspiration image upper left of design board) is really interesting.

Black terrazzo floor tile.

Wood plank vanity/cabinets with the sink set on the right side. The left side is a hidden cabinet. Planks miter at corner and continue as counter top. (push latch to open cabinet door)The planks continue up as the backsplash – which is built off the wall by about 4” to create a ledge.

Mirror “leans” off ledge.

Couple things to ignore on the rendering; I’d go for a different wood than shown – nicer cedar or something with smooth grain (not as many knots) and of course more medium tone.

The little circle below the sink on the cabinets is actually supposed to be about 3x as large – wood half-moon handles/pulls (stained to match wood of the cabinet)

Guest Bath 1:

I loved that colorful herringbone tile you saved as one of your favorites – and this bath seemed like the perfect place for it – so proposing it in the shower. Then take the green rectangle for wainscoting and floors.

White paneled walls

Wood piece caps the tile wainscoting

Guest Bath 2:

I was really drawn to the vanity inspiration image of the design board – but I think we can play with it a bit (maybe more interesting stone, definitely less yellow tone to the wood).

Then depending how moody you’re open to for this room: paint wall paneling in black or a deep color (can of course go brighter as well)

Flooring could be either white or black (large stone penny tiles)

Shower tile in a offset pattern that plays off the herringbone look of the other bath. See image on design board for layout."

I am floor by the design of guest bathroom 1 (which will be my mom's bathroom). I honestly can't think of a better design than this. Love the green and the tiles here.

Jeff and I surprisingly DON'T HATE the maroon color. We actually found it quite interesting. Shall we go for this color?
